Calcaneal Locking Plate IV

  • Low profile design can reduce the irritation to the soft tissue -easy to shape and cut in the operation
  • Three holes aims the sustentaculum talus to provide excellent support to the talocalcaneal joint surface
  • The flexible part provide extra support to the anterior and plantar bone.

Products Details

The calcaneus is the most common site of tarsal fractures, accounting for approximately 60% of all tarsal fractures in adults. The incidence is highest in young men. Most calcaneal fractures are occupational injuries caused by axial forces from a fall. Most are displaced intra-articular fractures (60%-75%). One study reported that among 752 calcaneal fractures that occurred over a 10-year period, the annual incidence of calcaneal fractures was 11.5 per 100,000 population, with a male-to-female ratio of 2.4:1. 72% of these fractures were caused by falls. Treatment principles
  • Based on biomechanical and clinical research, the reduction and fixation of calcaneal fractures should meet the following requirements
  • Reduction, anatomical reduction for fractures involving articular surfaces
  • Restore the overall shape and length, width and height geometric parameters of the calcaneus
  • Restoring the flattening of the subtalar articular surface and the normal anatomical relationship between the three articular surfaces
  • Restore the weight-bearing axis of the hind foot.
Indications: Fractures of the calcaneus including, but not limited to, extraarticular, intraarticular, joint depression, tongue type, and multifragmentary fractures.
